The ITMA organized the inaugural CIO Study Trip to the Silicon Valley in 2006, and the response was overwhelming. We visited technology giants such as eBay, Symantec, Oracle, Accenture and CISCO.
During our second study trip in 2007, around 20+ ITMA members visited great global companies based in New York. The participants gained significant insights into the IT operations of companies such as Colgate, New York Stock Exchange, Warner Music and JP Morgan.
Our 3rd study trip was to Paris, Frankfurt and Basel and we visited great companies head quartered in Europe.
In all of these trips, the participants had very fruitful and interesting interactions with the CIOs of these global companies. One of the CIOs who took part in the trip hailed it as “one of the best learning experiences”. The post trip survey result shows that 100% of the participants were “very satisfied” with the trip. The opportunity to network with fellow CIOs and Senior IT Management during the trip was highlighted by the participants as one of key benefits of the trip.

The theme for this year's study trip is "Leveraging IT for Operational Excellence and Best Practices".
The objectives of the trip are:
· To learn from the experience of the Scandinavian companies how they adopt IT in improving their business processes and operations.
· To network with the Scandinavian CIOs and fellow CIOs and learn from each other's experiences.
The companies are carefully selected to include the following areas:
· IT Security implementation
· IT solutions and implementations to improve business processes and employee productivity
· Management of data storage and IT facilities
· ERP implementation using SAP/Oracle.
The detailed itinerary will be provided 2 weeks before the departure date.
