Friends and Colleagues,
I am pleased to inform that the new Executive Council was elected into office during the annual AGM on 26 March 2008. As part of our renewal process, we have inducted and duly voted into the EXCO five new faces. I would like to welcome them on board the EXCO. They are Eugene Chang, Seleana Ng, Grace Ong, Seok Leng and Hock Hai. I am sure they will bring in fresh ideas and contribute their service to take ITMA to another new chapter in the years ahead. I also appreciate the existing EXCO members who stayed on the mission with me. They are Vice Presidents/Wai Yee and Kar Joo, Treasurer/Chin Yew, Secretary/Vincent Wong, EXCO members/Linus Tham, Alvin Ong and Kim Chiong. And not forgetting, I would also like to thank the outgoing EXCO members who have decided to step aside due to their other personal commitments. They are our Immediate Past President/Choy Peng, Vice President/James Kang, and EXCO/Hian Leong.
The new EXCO team is a good representation from the private and public sector CIOs, IT Heads and Directors. There is also a good mix of the two genders to look into the interests of all members of the ITMA. The new team got down to business after the election and has mapped out our work-plan for the fiscal year ending March 2009. There will be exciting projects and events organized for members throughout the year, beginning with the CIO Workshop in May, CIO Overseas Study Trip planned for Europe in Sep and our flagship ITMA conference "IT Best Practices" in Nov. In between these events, we shall continue our professional development to engage our members with the industry sharing of experience via study visits and professional talks. Following the success of our inaugural charity project last year, our EXCO will continue to contribute to community through charity project, financial assistance programs and prize awards with tertiary institutions. We will conclude with the Annual Gala Dinner in Jan and the AGM to round up the year next March.
To remain relevant as a voice of the IT management to the industry, we need to continuously ensure that we have a good representation and the support from our members. One of our key initiatives this year is to expand our membership aggressively over the next few years. Our membership EXCOs will develop some development and promotion programs for membership, including member services and benefits.
Finally, I am very confident that ITMA will continue to contribute to the development of IT management in Singapore. The Association will work with our industry regulators, other professional bodies, academics, vendors and our employers to promote good practices and governance in IT management.
