Dear Valued ITMA Member,

We are pleased to bring you the long-awaited ITMA CIO Study Trip after a break of 2 years due to Covid. Running for the 14th year, the delegation of the 14th ITMA CIO Study Trip will be heading to London and Dublin.

Join us on a trip to look at how others are adapting their business and digital strategies after the digital sprint that occurred in many industries during COVID. The Study Trip is an exclusive event for CIOs/IT Heads and Heads of Function. It has been well regarded as a great opportunity to learn and network with industry peers from different industries.

THEME: ENABLING A DIGITAL METROPOLIS

Britain has been on the forefront of past industrial revolutions and continues to be a world leader in the 4th Industrial Revolution. Both digital metropolises in their own right, London is a global technology hub while Dublin has emerged to be a major technology hub in Europe. In this study trip, we will visit interesting sites and learn about the digital innovations that have permeated the work, play and lives of the people and organisations in these two cities. We will also be hearing from experts undertaking experimentation and pilot trials of leading-edge technology in innovation labs that continue the pace of digital transformation.

TRIP OBJECTIVES/KEY LEARNINGS FOR PARTICIPANTS

• Visit companies that are at the forefront of deploying new technologies and learn about their vision and how technology is transforming their businesses.

• Learn how established companies are making transformational changes to remain relevant and be more competitive.

• Discussions with key company executives on their vision and execution experiences in driving greater innovation in their businesses.

Join us on a trip to look at how others are adapting their strategies for this revolution.

Business Automation – Amazon Fullfillment Center
Explore the world of Amazon operations, from its cutting-edge technology to the people who make Amazon what it is today. This tour will connect you to fulfillment centers all over the globe, showing you what happens behind the scenes when you shop with Amazon. This site in London LCY3 FC is a fully automated robotics system and the largest Fulfillment Centre site in London.

Future Work Experience – Phygital Design
"Design at the heart - We make people's lives better by creating meaningful digital and physical products, services, and experiences they love". Designing the future work experience means being open-minded and experimenting with what the right version of hybrid looks like. Businesses that get it right will likely attract and retain the best talent in a competitive landscape. We don't know what the future will throw at us — locations and formats will likely change. The key focus is on how to create experiences that give employees autonomy, support, and purpose wherever they are.

Digital Government – DWP Digital
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is UK's largest government department, with more than 93,500 employees. The DWP is responsible for welfare, pensions and child maintenance policy. As the UK's biggest public service department it administers the State Pension and a range of working age, disability and ill health benefits to around 20 million claimants and customers. Its technology department, DWP Digital, employs nearly 5,000 staff to deliver and support the underlying IT systems and technology for these services. Jacqui Leggetter, head of Integration, DWP Digital, will be sharing DWP digitalisation journey. Pandemic accelerated digital transformation. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the DWP identified a need to streamline, digitise, and automate processes. DWP will share on their journey and have a dialogue exchange with the participants for the visit.

Using Tech To Enhance Your Product – Spurs Stadium
We will use the Stadium tour as a live-action case study to demonstrate how technology is embedded into the fabric of the Stadium from the ground-up. Sanjeev is an outstanding speaker and uses the Stadium tour as a live-action case study to demonstrate how technology is embedded into the fabric of the Stadium from the ground-up. Spurs are also in the process of renovating the data centre/control centre at the Stadium, which will be complete by the time of our visit and would be a highlight of the tour.
