What is the ITMA IT Best Practices Seminar?
There are many IT talks, conference and seminars held practically every week during the year. Only once a year, however, does the IT Management Association (ITMA) organize a seminar targeted at the highest level of IT leaders and decision makers in Singapore. The IT Best Practices (ITBP) Seminar is held to bring together CIOs, senior management and leading IT practitioners from government and industry to consider and think about areas crucial to the IT industry in Singapore. It is planned and organized by practicing IT leaders for practicing IT leaders and future IT leaders, thus ensuring a unique audience of senior IT leaders at the seminar.
What is this year’s Theme?
This year’s seminar theme is “Leading Innovation in the Smart Nation” and focuses on the role of the CIO is leading transformation and spearheading innovation to support our nation’s progress from an intelligent island to a smart nation. Despite the media coverage and the hype, at the end of the day, it comes down to the organizations on the ground and the people who lead them to create the smart nation. It boils down to the innovation that will bring real change to the people’s daily life, and understanding the role of IT (information & technology) in making the smart nation a reality. Is it just about building sensors and networks? Or innovating the Internet of Things (IoT)? Or about sensing, sense-making and decision-making? Or analytics everywhere! In this 21st Annual ITMA IT Best Practices Seminar, we look at these questions from top down and bottom-up, dive into the murky waters for clarity and brevity, and let participants listen and share on innovation and leadership.
