Cloud Computing – The Business Perspective
Cloud Computing has the potential to fundamentally change and enable the IT organization to create competitive advantage by intelligently and dynamically anticipating and responding to business needs. The Executive Forum will bring together thought leaders from around the globe to share, explore and discuss the opportunities and strategies to capitalize on the new world of Cloud Computing.

The keynote session will be followed by an exclusive executive session at Equinox where Steve Herrod will provide a deep-dive into the 'Future of the Datacenter and Andre Conti will outline the best practice approach to 'Transforming Your Organization To Take Advantage of the Cloud' being adopted by leading organizations globally to reduce complexity and drive business agility.

Steve Herrod joined VMware in 2001 and drives the company’s technology strategy across its entire product portfolio, bringing 20 years of virtualization technology experience. While attending graduate school, Herrod collaborated with VMware’s founders on initial innovations leading up to the company’s debut. Now as head of the Office of the CTO, he continues to work with the engineering organizations toward continued delivery of innovative products that push technology limits, are easy to use and elegantly accessible, and leverage collaborative efforts with VMware’s partners and customers. Named InfoWorld’s CTO of the Year in 2009, Herrod was one of VMware’s first engineering directors and during his tenure at VMware has led numerous teams in developing new technologies. Prior to VMware, Herrod co-led the development of a virtual CPU with "Code Morphing" technology at Transmeta Corporation. Herrod holds a Ph.D. and a Master in Computer Science from Stanford University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas, Austin.

André Conti is a Senior Executive within the global technology practice and the head of Accenture’s Data Centre Technology and Operations practice for South East Asia, Australia and Korea. Within this practice, Accenture’s vision of infrastructure transformation is brought to life via the next generation of data centre (NGDC), which focuses on virtualization, automation and standardization to deliver outstanding IT Infrastructure services supporting company business strategy.André’s practical views on IT infrastructure and data centre technologies have been developed from years of delivering infrastructure transformation and next generation data centre projects, with an emphasis on consolidation and rationalization programs, delivering significant top and bottom line business benefits. At an operational level he also has deep knowledge and experience in the design and development of virtualization solutions, program management of complex computing environments and the design, implementation and operations of all aspects of IT tools, processes and procedures.During his career André has worked extensively in delivering large IT Infrastructure capabilities within a number of industries including Health and Public Service, Financial Services, Transportation and more recently Telecommunications.

Ed Lenta is the head of VMware across South East Asia where he is responsible for strategic direction and market development. Well known as a virtualization and Cloud Computing evangelist, he oversees all aspects of VMware’s business in the region.
Ed previously worked as Regional Sales Director for VMware across Australia and New Zealand, where he was responsible for establishing VMware's business specializing in banking, government, manufacturing and retail. Prior to joining VMware, Ed held leadership positions with Gen-I/ Telecom NZ, a leading A/NZ systems integrator.
